“Should This Case Be in Tribal Court??” A Practical Guide to Trans-Jurisdictional Cases

Brian spent the first 5 ½ years of his legal career with DNA-People’s Legal Services, a nonprofit legal aid organization serving clients with state and tribal legal issues throughout Northern Arizona and the Four Corners area. Brian has practiced in Arizona, Navajo, and Hopi courts since 2010, and has also appeared in the tribal courts of the Havasupai Tribe, the Hualapai Tribe, the Yavapai-Apache Nation, and the Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians. In these six tribal courts, Brian has practical experience with prosecution, public defense, private defense, dependencies/ICWA cases, juvenile cases, divorces, custody disputes, child support enforcement, protection orders, probate, land disputes, civil litigation, and consumer advocacy.
